Room for every part
of your day.
Gather around the table. Focus on work. Put things away and settle into the evening. We explore this apartment in Lviv through everyday actions: they explain the layout, furniture and lighting.
This is the story of PISKOR Architect’s design decisions, drawn from the project documentation. The brief and constraints are reconstructed from drawings and visualizations; the result shown is the proposed interior.
The design brief
Time together.
Room for yourself.
How can an apartment of around 98 m² accommodate shared living, work and rest? Its layout suggests this design brief: spaces for gathering should coexist with separate rooms for concentration and sleep.
Our solution
The project includes a kitchen and dining room, living room, separate study and bedroom, wardrobe and two bathrooms.
For your comfort
Each part of the day has its own place: a conversation around the table can continue while someone works in another room.
The layout challenge
Work nearby.
Rest in its own space.
Several functions had to fit within the existing apartment. The documentation includes a measured survey, demolition, new partitions and the resulting layout: the interior starts with the arrangement of rooms and furniture.
Our solution
The 18 m² study and 16 m² bedroom are separate rooms. Furniture and lighting positions are developed in the respective plans.
For your comfort
The desk has a room of its own. The bedroom retains a setting for rest, with a bed, armchair and local lighting.
The storage solution
A place for belongings.
A character for the room.
Storage runs through the project, from the entrance hall to the kitchen and study. The visual challenge is to make large furniture volumes part of a coherent room composition.
Our solution
Bespoke furniture drawings were developed. Timber fronts alternate with a mirror in the hall; tall kitchen units for appliances join the worktop and upper cabinets.
For your comfort
Everyday belongings can be distributed among enclosed compartments, while the fronts and materials contribute to the interior.
Creating atmosphere
Light brings out
the material.
Blue, timber and burgundy surfaces have different depths and qualities. General, local and decorative lighting bring them together. Fixture positions are considered alongside furniture and finishes.
Our solution
Fixture and switching plans support cabinet, display and detail lighting. Wall elevations coordinate furniture, mouldings and lighting points.
For your comfort
Light draws attention to the part of the room in use: shelves, a mirror or a working area. Smaller details contribute to the overall atmosphere.
Lighting control
Light has
its own scene.
The apartment’s lighting is divided into groups, allowing the shared rooms, study, bedroom and bathrooms to follow their own rhythm.
Our solution
The lighting plan, socket and switch layout and switching diagram are coordinated with the furniture and wall elevations. Single, double and two-way switches are specified, while separate power points support cove and furniture lighting.
For your comfort
General, local and decorative light can follow the activity in each room; grouped controls make it easier to shift the atmosphere throughout the day.
The design outcome
One apartment.
A considered day.
The outcome is an interior design project that brings together layout, furniture, finishes and service connection points. It moves from the overall vision to drawings, wall elevations and specifications for the next stages of work.
Our solution
Within 98 m², the design provides places to gather, work, sleep and store belongings. The wardrobe and bathrooms carry the same material and colour ideas through the apartment.
