# A two-level loft in Lviv.

A duplex apartment with an open staircase, a dining room for evenings together and three bedrooms with distinct moods. Dark timber finishes, graphite and green accents connect the rooms; a bedroom lighting sequence adds a separate evening atmosphere.

## Shared space below. Personal rooms above.

On the lower level, the dining room sits beside the open staircase. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own character: restrained timber panels, green light and gaming references, or a violet recess with a hanging chair. Repeated finishes connect these different rooms, while bespoke furniture combines rest with storage and a place to work.

Entrance hall

## A place for belongings beside the door.

An entrance hall needs somewhere to change shoes, put away coats and find small essentials before leaving. Too much open storage can quickly make it feel cluttered.

### Design response

Tall cupboards have flat dark fronts. A bench with a green upholstered cushion sits beside a mirror and a small shelf. Timber ceiling finishes and directional lights give the entrance a clear character without extra decoration.

### Everyday benefit

Everyday belongings stay close to the door, while the cupboards read as a quiet wall rather than a collection of separate units.

A bench and shelf provide a useful stopping point beside the entrance.

Closed fronts conceal belongings and create a calm backdrop to the hall.

Dining room

## A generous table for time together.

The dining room is a prominent part of the lower level. Seen from the stairs and the window, its table, lighting and storage need to work together.

### Design response

Green upholstered chairs soften the dark timber wall. Ring pendants hang above the table on angled cables. Opposite, a glass-front cabinet with a slender frame holds tableware and objects worth keeping on display.

### Everyday benefit

The room suits an everyday meal as well as a long conversation with guests. The cabinet keeps it domestic in character, while the pendants clearly define the table area.

The dark wall and green upholstery draw attention to the table.

Tableware and objects sit within a frame that echoes the staircase.

Open staircase

## Two levels joined by an open stair.

The staircase stands beside the dining table. A solid enclosed structure here would visually separate the dining room from the rest of the lower level.

### Design response

An open flight with dark metal elements and timber treads leaves views through the structure. Slender verticals repeat in the display cabinet and carry the same graphic detail through the interior.

### Everyday benefit

The route upstairs remains part of the living space. The dining area keeps its sense of depth, and the stair becomes a visible architectural feature.

The stairs sit alongside the dining room without a solid dividing wall.

Gaps and slim metal elements preserve views beyond the stairs.

Main bedroom

## Warm timber around the bed.

The main bedroom continues the apartment’s dark palette, with soft textiles and a large window giving it a quieter mood than the shared rooms.

### Design response

Smooth timber panels and vertical slats frame the headboard. A dark veined surface runs behind the bedside units, and circular pendant lights mark each side of the bed. A reading chair stands by the window.

### Everyday benefit

The bed has a clear setting, with a separate place to relax near daylight. Suspended bedside lights leave the tops of the units free.

Panels, slats and pendants create a balanced setting for the bed.

Daylight balances the dark finishes, with a chair for reading nearby.

Dressing table

## A place to get ready at your own pace.

A dressing table shares the room with the bed. It needs its own surface and mirror without becoming another large piece of furniture.

### Design response

A slim dark tabletop sits beside the window. Vertical mirrors in metal frames continue the lines of the headboard, while a warmly upholstered chair distinguishes this corner from the dark bedside units.

### Everyday benefit

Cosmetics and daily essentials have a separate home. The table benefits from daylight and remains part of the bedroom’s overall composition.

Green bedroom

## A bedroom with a gaming identity.

In one bedroom, the apartment’s graphite palette gains a bright green accent. Gaming references concentrate around the headboard, while the main furniture remains restrained.

### Design response

An illuminated statement sits on the green wall above the bed. A perforated metal upright and open shelves provide space for a collection. A tall wardrobe with flat grey fronts conceals everyday belongings.

### Everyday benefit

The resident’s interests become a visible part of the room. Closed storage helps keep the area for rest tidy.

Workspace

## A desk with the collection close by.

This bedroom combines sleep with computer work. A separate area for the desk and collection keeps the bedside surfaces free.

### Design response

The desk sits opposite the bed alongside tall shelving. Open compartments of different heights hold books and models; perforated metal carries the room’s industrial detail into the workspace.

### Everyday benefit

The desk has its own storage. The collection stays visible without taking over the entire work surface.

The desk and shelves form a dedicated workspace opposite the bed.

Compartments of different sizes accommodate books and collection pieces.

Violet bedroom

## A violet recess and open shelves.

Another bedroom has a softer colour accent and a distinct recess behind the headboard. Its mood differs from the green room, though the furniture uses related dark profiles and timber surfaces.

### Design response

Violet surfaces frame the bed and illuminated statement. Open shelves stand beside the sleeping area, with a dark-fronted wardrobe opposite. A mirror between furniture elements reflects the window.

### Everyday benefit

The room has its own identity and a range of storage options. Closed fronts keep the focus on the recess and favourite objects.

Study and relaxation

## A corner for a change of pace.

Alongside the bed, the violet bedroom includes a desk and a place by the window to take a break.

### Design response

The desk is integrated into a furniture niche with shelves above. Across the room, a hanging chair with a soft cushion sits beside the window and a small table.

### Everyday benefit

Study, hobbies and rest each have a place within the same room. The chair offers an alternative to sitting at the desk or on the bed.

Shelves and a desk create a compact place for study.

Shower room

## A dark stone pattern behind clear glass.

The shower room continues the palette of dark timber and green tones. Separating the wet area while keeping details legible matters in this deep colour scheme.

### Design response

Clear glass in a dark frame encloses the shower. Large greenish veins run across the feature wall, beside timber-textured surfaces and an open shelving niche. A line of light above brings out the stone pattern.

### Everyday benefit

The glass preserves views across the room, with shelves and a seat located within the shower area.

Vanity area

## Mirror and light for daily routines.

In a dark bathroom, the basin area needs a distinct layer of local light. Towels and care products also need a place close at hand.

### Design response

A suspended vanity combines drawers with an open lower shelf. A tall mirror rises above the counter, with small pendant lights along its edge. Green textiles connect this area with the shower’s feature wall.

### Everyday benefit

Daily essentials have a home beside the basin. The suspended unit keeps the floor open, and local light defines the countertop.

Lighting sequence

## One bedroom. Several lighting states.

The violet bedroom has a dedicated lighting visualisation. It shows how the same room changes without moving any furniture.

### Design response

The pink recess outline and headboard statement appear first. Light then reveals the shelves and hanging-chair corner in sequence. The accents fade at the end, returning the room to a quieter state.

### Everyday benefit

The lighting sequence shows how accents can combine for a quiet evening or a more expressive room setting. It lets the desired atmosphere be agreed before choosing equipment.

The end of the sequence returns the room to a dimmer state.

Automation potential

## Scenes shaped around daily habits.

Pendants, directional fixtures and decorative lighting provide a basis for different modes in the dining room and bedrooms. These could be developed as a separate automation brief.

### Design response

A dinner setting could use the table lighting independently, with a different balance of local and general light for computer work. Compatible drives could bring curtains into these scenes, while zoned heating could follow the schedule of each room.

### Everyday benefit

A potential control system could make familiar activities easier to switch between. A separate technical design would define the equipment, connections between zones and the value of additional functions such as leak protection and security.

Project scope

## Two levels with distinct moods.

The apartment story covers the entrance hall, dining room and open staircase, three bedrooms with bespoke furniture and work areas, and the shower and vanity zones. Dark surfaces and slender metal elements connect the rooms; green and violet accents give personal spaces their own character. The bedroom video adds a designed lighting sequence to the interior story.

## About this project

How are the two apartment levels connected?

The dining room sits beside the open staircase on the lower level. The three bedrooms belong to the upper level. The stair remains a visible part of the shared space.

What connects rooms with different colours?

Timber surfaces, graphite fronts and slender metal profiles repeat in the dining room, entrance hall and bedrooms. Green and violet distinguish personal rooms while retaining a shared palette of finishes.

How do the bedrooms accommodate work?

The green room has a desk beside shelving for books and a collection. In the violet room, a desk is integrated into a furniture niche, while a hanging chair by the window provides a separate place to relax.

What does the lighting video demonstrate?

The visualisation shows the violet bedroom’s lighting sequence: recess outline, statement, shelving and local accents. It is a designed lighting scene, not evidence of an installed smart-home system.

How can we start a similar apartment project?

Share plans of both levels and tell us how you expect to use shared and personal rooms. We can discuss stairs, storage, workspaces and lighting modes to define the scope of the interior design.
