## A small footprint. Distinct places to live.

Glass separates the sleeping area while retaining a view towards the windows. Fitted furniture does more than hold belongings: it defines the entrance, supports the bedroom and gives the shared room its backdrop. The palette combines pale brick with green textiles, warm timber and dark stone patterns.

Planning

## 37 m² with a dedicated bedroom.

The small apartment needs a separate sleeping space and an open area for spending time together.

### Design response

The kitchen, dining table and sofa sit beside two windows. A glazed partition defines the bedroom; the entrance and bathroom occupy a separate part of the plan. Storage is grouped near the entrance and bed.

### Everyday benefit

The transparent boundary preserves the view and lets light reach the bedroom. The layout provides distinct zones without a solid wall through the middle.

Open room with sofa, table and kitchen beside the windows

Shared activities occupy the bright part of the apartment.

Glazed bedroom beside the living area and fitted wall

Glass defines the bedroom while keeping the room visually open.

Living room

## Comfortable seating beside the daylight.

The sofa sits beside large windows and close to the dining table.

### Design response

A corner sofa, round coffee table and patterned rug create the sitting area. Deep-green curtains and cushions echo the dining chairs; the white ceiling and pale brick keep the upper part of the room light.

### Everyday benefit

The setting supports conversation and everyday rest. Textiles distinguish it from the kitchen without additional partitions.

Large windows light both the sofa and table.

Living area with a round table and patterned rug

The rug brings the seating area together.

Kitchen and dining

## Cooking and dining in one shared space.

The kitchen remains open to the living area, so appliances and storage need to suit the overall composition.

### Design response

Dark lower fronts meet timber-look upper units and a stone-pattern splashback. Green upholstered chairs and a dedicated pendant surround the round table. The worktop has its own lighting.

### Everyday benefit

The table is close to the cooking area. Kitchen cabinets keep crockery and appliances together, leaving the shared room available for relaxing.

A dedicated pendant marks the dining area.

The working area is coordinated with the entrance and glazed partition.

Glazed bedroom

## A defined sleeping area that keeps the light.

The bedroom sits further from the windows but remains part of the bright interior.

### Design response

Dark-framed glass separates the bed from the shared room. Timber flooring and dark bedding give the bedroom a quieter atmosphere. A portrait on the wall adds an accent, with tall storage units keeping clothing near the bed.

### Everyday benefit

The sleeping area has clear boundaries and a connection to daylight. The bed sits away from the main circulation route, while the glazed boundary retains the sense of a shared space.

Storage sits beside the sleeping area.

View from the bedroom through glass towards the sofa and large windows

The transparent boundary retains the view towards the windows.

Storage and entrance

## Tall furniture serves both sides.

In a compact apartment, every additional object affects circulation.

### Design response

A tall fitted composition combines open hanging spaces, timber-look fronts and a mirror. It sits between the entrance and bedroom, with lighting beneath the upper compartments.

### Everyday benefit

Belongings have defined places and a mirror is available at the entrance. One fitted unit supports several functions without separate cupboards in every zone.

Open and closed compartments share one fitted unit.

The mirror supports the everyday leaving-home routine.

Materials and colour

## Brick and timber. Green textiles.

Expressive surfaces give the apartment its character without relying on numerous decorative objects.

### Design response

Pale and red brick meet timber-look furniture, stone patterns and dark metal frames. Green curtains and chairs connect the zones. Open shelves alternate with closed fronts on the fitted wall.

### Everyday benefit

Each zone has its own accent within a shared palette. Different materials still read as one compact interior.

Textiles support the shared palette of the living areas.

Dining area against red brick and fitted shelving

Red brick and shelves form the backdrop to the shared room.

Bathroom

## Dark stone patterns and warm cabinet details.

The compact bathroom has a full bath, basin and storage.

### Design response

Dark stone-pattern surfaces meet timber-look fronts. A countertop bowl, tall cabinets, mirror and narrow illuminated niches organise the room. Glass and a curtain separate the bath area.

### Everyday benefit

Everyday items stay close to where they are used. Mirror and ceiling lighting spread the light rather than relying on one harsh central fitting.

A full bath runs along the wall.

Basin and timber-look cabinets against stone patterns

Tall cabinets provide room for everyday products.

View from the bath towards the mirror and bathroom storage

The mirror extends the view in the narrow room.

Countertop bowl, vanity surface and illuminated niche detail

Small niches complement the main storage.

Lighting

## Light for cooking, relaxing and personal routines.

Several everyday activities share a small space.

### Design response

The design provides track lights, wall lamps and separate LED outlets. Kitchen, furniture and ceiling-perimeter lighting complement the main fittings. Compatible circuits could later be combined into dining, relaxing and leaving-home scenes.

### Everyday benefit

Different activities do not need the same brightness throughout the room. Automated scenes require separate equipment selection and are not presented as an installed system.

Automation options

## Further scenarios for everyday comfort.

Curtained windows, radiators and plumbing points suggest practical next steps for automation.

### Design response

Compatible equipment could support scheduled heating, motorised curtains and leak detection with water shut-off. Entrance monitoring and coordinated climate control could form part of a separate systems brief.

### Everyday benefit

These additions could reduce routine actions. They are recommended options requiring separate systems design, compatibility checks and equipment installation.

Project scope

## A compact interior with coordinated details.

The project defines the apartment layout, furniture, finishes and lighting positions. Kitchen elevations coordinate cabinets, sockets and LED outlets; selected visualisations show how the sleeping and shared areas fit together. Possible automation extensions remain separate from the confirmed design decisions.

## About this project

How much space does the design cover?

37 m², rounded from the stated total area. The layout includes a kitchen and living area, a glazed bedroom, entrance storage and bathroom.

Why use glass around the bedroom?

It defines the sleeping area while allowing daylight and views across the room. It is a visual boundary rather than a promise of complete acoustic privacy.

Can the lighting and heating be automated?

The design includes distinct lighting layers. Scenes, heating schedules, curtain motors and leak protection can be explored with compatible equipment as separate additions.
