## Space to spend time together. And rooms of your own.

The kitchen, dining table and sofa sit close together, so cooking and conversation share one space. The bedroom and nursery have their own character. Storage forms part of the walls, while ventilation grilles follow the ceiling design. Everyday needs and the interior are considered together, before the furniture is chosen.

Entry and storage

## A useful entrance with room for belongings.

The entry needs to hold coats and everyday items while keeping the route to the living room clear.

### Design response

Tall cabinets combine with an open niche, a bench and illuminated shelves. Timber fronts continue into the wall finish. A large mirror gives another view of the room and a sense of depth.

### Everyday benefit

There is somewhere to sit, leave a bag and hang a coat. Closed fronts keep belongings out of sight; the open niche holds what is needed close at hand.

The mirror reflects the entry and visually extends it.

Living room

## A comfortable setting for long evenings.

The living room opens onto the kitchen, while the sofa and rug give it boundaries of its own.

### Design response

A corner sofa faces the television and fireplace composition. Timber panels, a low coffee table and textiles soften the light base. Wall cabinets and open shelves provide room for books and personal belongings.

### Everyday benefit

The shared room accommodates conversation at the table and a quieter moment on the sofa. Changing activities does not mean moving to another room.

Textiles add colour, while wall shelves keep the floor clear.

Kitchen

## A working kitchen. Breakfast by the window.

The kitchen needs a generous work surface, storage and a place for a short morning pause.

### Design response

Light lower fronts meet timber upper cabinets and a tall appliance unit. The sink on the peninsula faces the shared room. A counter with high stools sits by the window; open shelves above the worktop have their own lighting.

### Everyday benefit

Cooking can remain part of the conversation with people nearby. Coffee has a separate spot without taking over the main dining table.

The counter by the window provides a separate place for breakfast.

Kitchen cabinets with timber fronts, a light worktop and integrated appliances

The tall appliance unit continues the timber composition.

Dining area

## A table connecting kitchen and living room.

The dining area sits between the kitchen and sofa without a separate partition.

### Design response

A table with a sculptural base is paired with upholstered chairs. Open shelving hangs over the edge of the peninsula, marking the kitchen boundary while preserving views between zones. Storage also sits below the countertop.

### Everyday benefit

People at the table can talk to either side of the shared room. The open structure separates functions while retaining light and sightlines.

Suspended shelves mark the kitchen without a solid wall.

Shared apartment space with a dining table between the kitchen and sofa

The table connects cooking and relaxation in one room.

Bedroom

## Warm textures for a private room.

The bedroom is separate from the active shared space. Its main feature sits behind the headboard.

### Design response

Timber panels meet a light inset with a stone pattern. The bed and bench upholstery continue the warm tones. Local lights sit beside the headboard, and a ceiling outline provides another layer of light.

### Everyday benefit

Bedside light is available for an evening at rest. Warm colours and substantial curtains give the bedroom a different mood from the kitchen and living room.

A bench and bedside light support everyday use of the bedroom.

Bedroom furniture

## A place of your own within the fitted furniture.

Alongside the bed, the bedroom has a small place for personal care and belongings.

### Design response

A floating vanity, mirror and stool sit beside the television wall. Closed fronts underneath and tall timber panels keep the composition ordered. The furniture leaves a route beside the bed to the window.

### Everyday benefit

Morning essentials have a dedicated place in the bedroom. The floating vanity leaves room for the stool below without filling the floor.

A mirror and small worktop form part of the wall furniture.

Bedroom with a floating cabinet, vanity and clear route beside the bed

Furniture follows the wall and leaves access to the window.

Nursery

## A room for sleep and first games.

The nursery combines a place to sleep, clear floor space for play and useful storage.

### Design response

A cot with a canopy sits alongside a chest of drawers, open shelves and a chair near the window. Light fronts continue the wall. A mountain and airship illustration and a fabric play tent give the room a playful setting.

### Everyday benefit

The floor remains available for play, while drawers and shelves divide everyday storage. An adult has a chair close to the cot.

Bathroom

## A light bathroom with warm details.

The bathroom combines a bathing area with a separate basin composition.

### Design response

A countertop basin sits on a timber-textured surface. A large mirror, pendant lights and light beneath the cabinet give the vanity its character. A glass screen and recessed product niche sit beside the bath, with a towel rail within reach.

### Everyday benefit

Products have a place at the bath and basin. The glass screen limits splashes without blocking the view through the room.

Separate WC

## A compact room with considered light.

A separate WC lets the main bathroom be used independently by other members of the household.

### Design response

A wall-mounted toilet is paired with a narrow freestanding basin. Light finishes, a horizontal timber band and a mirror connect the room. Linear light emphasises its height, while a niche above the concealed cistern holds small items.

### Everyday benefit

Essential functions fit into a small room. The narrow basin preserves circulation, and the niche avoids the need for another cabinet.

The timber band connects the finishes on different walls.

Light and scenes

## Different light for different activities.

The interior combines spotlights, ceiling outlines, illuminated shelves and local furniture lighting.

### Design response

Kitchen task lighting is positioned separately from decorative accents. The entry niche and mirror have light of their own; the bedroom has bedside fixtures. These layers could support scenes for cooking, evening relaxation and a night-time route. Automated lighting is a possible addition, not a verified installed system.

### Everyday benefit

Each activity can have the light it needs. An automation design would separately define lighting groups, compatible equipment and the method of control.

Illuminated shelves complement the kitchen worktop lighting.

Entry with spotlights and a light-filled route into the shared room

Circulation lighting has its own role beside the shared-room lighting.

Heating and control

## Temperature set around each room.

The engineering design specifies water-based underfloor heating and room thermostats.

### Design response

Heating circuits are distributed through manifolds. Thermostat positions and cable connections are defined, with final locations to be coordinated with the interior. The boiler and mixing unit form part of a separate heating design.

### Everyday benefit

The design allows temperature to be controlled by room rather than through one setting for the apartment. Bedrooms and shared spaces can have different needs without visible pipes along the walls.

Air and climate

## Fresh air without extra wall units.

Ventilation and cooling are developed together with duct routes and ceiling heights.

### Design response

The design specifies mechanical supply and extract ventilation with heat recovery and ducted air-conditioning units. Ducts run within the suspended ceiling; linear grilles appear in the interior. The bathroom extract fan is designed to respond to a humidity sensor.

### Everyday benefit

Ventilation provides air exchange, while air conditioning handles cooling. A ducted approach leaves walls for furniture and finishes, and humidity control gives the bathroom its own operating logic.

Water protection

## A response to problems that can go unnoticed.

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry connections need attention, including those hidden behind furniture.

### Design response

The engineering drawings include a leak-protection controller, sensors and cable connections. Final positions are coordinated with furniture and plumbing. During implementation, the complete system and its response to water need to be tested.

### Everyday benefit

Water protection is considered at the design stage. Connections and access to service points can be prepared before finishes are complete, rather than relying only on someone noticing a leak.

Project scope

## Interior and engineering for the same daily life.

The open kitchen and living room, private bedroom, nursery and separate bathrooms have their own organisation within a consistent interior. Engineering documents detail floor heating, temperature control, ventilation, cooling and water protection. The visual story shows how these needs meet furniture and light in the 108 m² apartment.

## About this project

What keeps the shared room organised?

Closed entry fronts and the tall kitchen unit provide the main storage. Open shelves remain where quick access or personal belongings need a place. The table and sofa define different activities while the room remains open.

Which automatic functions are part of the design?

The engineering drawings specify room thermostats, humidity-triggered bathroom extraction and leak protection. The case presents design provisions rather than a completed installation. Lighting scenes and curtain control can be considered separately during implementation.

Can this approach work in another apartment?

An open shared room, closed storage and separate room climate control should start with your layout and daily habits. For your project, we define the required zones, furniture positions and engineering possibilities before choosing finishes.
